The Second Phase of the ICT Education Project in Moldova Has Been Launched!

The second phase builds on our previous project, which focused on digital education for young women, launched the Cyber Security Academy and created the IT laboratory at the Technical University of Moldova (TUM).

In addition to providing technical equipment for the IT laboratory, the current phase will see us focus on developing educational content and capacity building of the TUM students. This will inevitably strengthen their position in the job market and increase their employability within the ICT sector – a crucial outcome given current challenges in Moldova and existing gaps between education and market needs.

To achieve this we are launching a 1-year course titled ‘The Cyber Security Academy’, the first term of which focuses on the development of soft skills important for the future employment, such as communications, conflict resolution, presentation skills, teamwork and time management. The course will also cover topics such as gender issues, equality and inclusion at the workplace. The second term will then focus on strengthening the practical skills of our students and will take place at the newly-equipped IT laboratory. Furthermore, within The Cyber Security Academy, we will provide a pilot course on ‘Women in Cyber ​​Security’ for at least 30 female students. This project will also launch the preparation and testing of the Cyber Security Incubator.

After completing The Academy of Cyber ​​Security, the 5 best students will be offered an internship at the ESET or other IT companies in Slovakia.

This project is implemented in cooperation with our partners TUM, ESET and TEKEDU, and will last 14 months.
